Challenge the ordinary. Redefine the possible.

The importance of sleep

Even if they know the importance of sleep, many people still don’t get the necessary rest they need. You may hear some of them saying that they have enough time to sleep when they are dead.

Most people who decide to sacrifice their sleep do it in order to get “work done”. If you have a tight deadline or a lot of work to finish up, you might think about pulling an all-nighter. At first, cutting your sleep hours for work might seem like a good idea when you are under pressure.

The problem with this is that the human body is not designed to focus for long periods at a time. The longer you spend working on something, the longer the breaks you will need to take. Also, as time passes productivity drops. Focusing becomes even harder with each passing hour. After a certain point you will just be doing extra hours, but not getting much work done.

This is where the hole point of losing sleep over work fails. It’s not about the hours you put in. It’s about results and getting work done. Especially things done right. A lot of work hours with low productivity don’t help you reach these goals.

The importance of sleep is that it offers you the necessary rest in order to do great work. It helps you focus. It helps you be productive.

It’s not about the hours you put in, it’s about the results.
